The Luxembourg Stock Exchange
LSE
The Luxembourg Stock Exchange is Europe's principal centre for the listing of international securities. It currently lists around 46,000 securities, including some 31,000 bonds issued by 3,500 issuers based in 105 countries around the world. This represents more than 40% of all international bonds listed on EU markets. Investment funds constitute another important segment with more than 7,500 different instruments listed. It is also active in listing Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs) issued by companies based in emerging markets.
The Luxembourg Stock Exchange operates two markets: the first being an EU regulated market and the second is an exchange regulated market named Euro MTF.
It has had a partnership agreement with NYSE Euronext since 2006. Under this agreement, all securities listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange are traded on the UTP platform of NYSE Euronext. Another aspect of the partnership involved the creation of Luxnext, the purpose of which is to develop a common standard for the listing and trading of corporate bonds.
The Luxembourg Stock Exchange also operates a wholly-owned subsidiary named Finesti, which focuses entirely on the collection, management and dissemination of investment fund data and documents.
