Haus vun der Natur presents new program
On Thursday, Haus vun der Natur, an institution that promotes nature discovery for schoolchildren, presented their program for the 2009/2010 school year.
The new program of Haus vun der Natur was developed around the new education system, the fundamental school.
The institution organises workshops adapted to the children's ages and needs and it also promotes variety within education as it is offered in fundamental school. The educational projects focus on a scientific approach to the subject so that pupils are in direct contact with the theme that is studied.
There are 2 different programs, activity weeks and individual projects. Activity weeks are open to all classes that are enrolled in the programme, they provide a key theme that is explored outside the classroom. Teachers then continue with the theme through various activities. Individual projects are open to all classes who can then enrol for the one that interests them. Children can then take part in different discovery programs focusing on plants, animals or forests for example.
The “House vun der Natur” team was completed this year with with 2 school teachers that develop more activities for children who live in the city.
